Muhammed Muheisen

Muhammed Muheisen, um jordano nascido em Jerusalém, um grande fotógrafo de acção, um foto-repórter de guerra e zonas de conflito. Um trabalho de coragem e risco, documentos violentos, imagens que nos fazem pensar.

Muhammed Muheisen was born in Jerusalem in 1981 and graduated with a degree in journalism and political science in 2002. He is currently based in Islamabad, as the Associated Press chief photographer of Pakistan. Muheisen joined AP in 2001, covering major events in the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the Iraqi conflict, as well as events in Saudi Arabia, China, Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, and France.

Muheisen’s work has received many international awards, among others Breaking News Pulitzer Prize of 2005 for covering war in Iraq, POYI, Picture of the year 2007, of Saudi Arabia of the Annual Muslim pilgrimage, best Multimedia of the Annual Israeli photo contest of 2007, honorable mention Atlanta photojournalism seminar of 2008 and photo of the year of the Annual Israeli photo contest of 2008 with two first prizes and two second prizes in different categories, two prizes in the Atlanta photojournalism seminar of 2009, 6 prizes in the Annual Israeli photo contest of 2009 and a Prize in the French Festival Du Scoop of 2009, a Prize in the National Headliner awards of 2009 and Feature Photos of portraits in Pakistan in APME 2010, and most recently, 2011 APME News Photos award for his series on unrest in Yemen and the John L.Dougherty Award for exemplary work by an AP staff member who is 30 years old or younger, 5 prizes in Yonhap International Press Photo Awards of 2011, Honorable Mention in ONASIA Photojournalism Contest 2011, Gold and Bronze prizes in 11th Asia Media Awards 2012, first prize in 78th National Headliner Awards 2012, participant in the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass of 2012, and Breaking News Pulitzer Prize of 2013 from the civil war in Syria, his work has been exhibited at Visa pour l’Image, in Perpignan, France and recently named TIME Magazine’s Best Wire Photographer of 2013.

Eu lia há muito. Desde que esta tarde com o seu ruído de chuva chegou às janelas. Abstraí-me do vento lá fora: o meu livro era difícil. Olhei as suas páginas como rostos que se ensombram pela profunda reflexão e em redor da minha leitura parava o tempo. — De repente sobre as páginas lançou-se uma luz e em vez da tímida confusão de palavras estava: tarde, tarde… em todas elas. Não olho ainda para fora, mas rasgam-se já as longas linhas, e as palavras rolam dos seus fios, para onde elas querem. Então sei: sobre os jardins transbordantes, radiantes, abriram-se os céus; o sol deve ter surgido de novo. — E agora cai a noite de Verão, até onde a vista alcança: o que está disperso ordena-se em poucos grupos, obscuramente, pelos longos caminhos vão pessoas e estranhamente longe, como se significasse algo mais, ouve-se o pouco que ainda acontece.

E quando agora levantar os olhos deste livro, nada será estranho, tudo grande. Aí fora existe o que vivo dentro de mim e aqui e mais além nada tem fronteiras; apenas me entreteço mais ainda com ele quando o meu olhar se adapta às coisas e à grave simplicidade das multidões, — então a terra cresce acima de si mesma. E parece que abarca todo o céu: a primeira estrela é como a última casa.

Reinshtein

D.Y. Reinshtein não revela muito sobre si próprio. Será israelita ou, pelo menos, vive em Israel.

Tem uma extraordinária aptidão fotográfica, que manifesta exuberantemente em varias disciplinas. Deixando um pouco de lado, sem qualquer menosprezo, o trabalho comercial, trouxe aqui uma ilustração das incríveis macros que consegue.

Não sou praticante, nem sequer grande crente, da arte da fotografia macro, mas reconheço a qualidade técnica e o impacto plástico das imagens que produz.

E estas são das melhores que tenho visto.

Nadav Bagim

Aimish Boy é a assinatura artística do israelita Nadav Bagim, um fotógrafo a “dois tempos”, ou seja, com dois registos totalmente distintos.

Por um lado, um trabalho de macrofotografia, com pós-produção elaborada, reconhecido internacionalmente mas que, humildemente confesso, não é muito a “minha praia”.

Por outro, um registo contemporâneo e actual na área da street photography de que gosto muito.

É reconhecido pelo primeiro, eu prefiro francamente o segundo. Escolham !

Nadav Bagim (a.k.a AimishBoy) is not going to write about himself in a third-person style as you would expect from these “about” sections.

He will not present himself as 31 years old who lives in Ramat-Gan, Israel, and enjoys being a B.Sc student in Brain Sciences (regardless if it takes him forever to graduate…). He will not describe how he marched storming into the photography world five years ago and got enchanted by its magic after getting a SLR-Like camera, and he defiantly won’t say a word about the addiction to photographing that made him purchasing his first DSLR camera (so you can see HIS point of view of things).

He will not mention that he is self taught, because everybody is nowadays… and will not describe how he enjoys shooting nature, macro, landscapes, thoughts, ideas and many more objects and subjects that pop into his head – because that you will be able to see for yourself in his galleries.

However, the one thing Nadav is willing to write is a big Thank You, for taking the time to visit this site and view the photos. He surely hopes you will enjoy them.

I have always been fascinated by nature.Its intricate beauty, the patterns, the colors all move me deeply and calm my soul. Ever since I began photographing I was drawn to the wonder of macro photography and that is what I shoot mainly. It has opened for me such a magical world in which patterns, colors, details, behaviors and life all blend in such wonderful harmony.

Erez Marom é um jovem fotógrafo israelita, especializado em duas áreas aparentemente opostas – o grande espaço visual da paisagem e o detalhe da macro – onde Erez encontra, contudo, um interessante traço comum:

“To me, both these fields are all about the intricacy and beauty of our natural world, and I do my best to show this beauty in my own unique way.”

É, sem dúvida, um grande talento e um fotógrafo notável em ambos os campos.

“I was born in 1980 in Holon, Israel, where I still live today. Encouraged by my parents from a young age to pursue any artistic tendency, I started playing the drums at age 9 and have been an active musician until a few years ago.
As a kid I’ve always been interested in insects, but it was only somewhere in 2008 that I first saw examples of the macro images which can be done with a DSLR today. I immidiately decided that I have to be able to shoot such pictures, and bought my first camera and macro lens. Total addiction was soon to follow, and today my main passion in nature photography, mainly macro and landscape.

As far as these fields are, to me both macro and landscape are all about revealing the intricacy and beauty of our natural world. Be it a portrait of a tiny fly or the mighty milky way, I strive to capture a unique view of nature and deliver my experiences and emotions to the viewer through my images.”
